Resize (Change Machine Type)

How to resize a Compute Instance or change its machine type.

Prerequisite

• The Project's wallet balance must be greater than 0. If your project has no funds, learn how to add money by following the steps for Topping up a Project's Wallet.

• An existing Compute Instance that you wish to scale up or down (change its Machine Type).

Instructions

1. Navigate to the Compute Instance Page

In the left-hand menu, click COMPUTE > Compute Instance to access the Compute Instance list.

2. Go to the Compute Instance Detail Page

Click on the name of the Compute Instance you wish to resize to enter its detail page.

3. Initiate the Resize Action

On the Compute Instance detail page, select MORE > Resize from the menu.

4. Select the New Machine Type

Scroll down to choose the desired new Machine Type, then click "CONFIRM".

5. Wait for the Instance to Return to its Previous Status

After confirming the resize, the Compute Instance's status will temporarily change to "resizing." The process is successful once the status returns to "active".
