# External IP

For an instance or port to connect to an external network, it must have an **External IP** associated with it to serve as a connection gateway.

## Instruction

### 1. **Log in to the Project**

Select a project from the projects management page to enter its detail page.

### 2. **Go to External IPs**

In the sidebar, click on **Network & Security > External IPs**.

* Create an External IP
* Associate an External IP with an Instance
