Insufficient Wallet Balance
What Happens When a Project Wallet's Balance is Depleted
Prepaid Project
When the wallet balance is charged and drops below 0, all instances in the project will be paused (see about pausing an instance). The instance status will change to "Paused," and most actions on resources within the project will be disabled until the wallet is topped up to a balance greater than 0.
Seven days after being paused, all instances in the project will be shut off (see about shutting off an instance). The instance status will change to "Shutoff," and most actions will remain disabled until the wallet balance is positive.
Seven days after being shut off, all instances and other resources in the project will be permanently deleted (see about terminating resources). These resources cannot be recovered, even if the wallet is topped up afterward.
Postpaid Project
When the payment status becomes "Overdue," there are no immediate changes to your resources. This continues until the number of overdue billing cycles exceeds the project's configured limit, at which point the payment status will change to "Paused."
When the payment status becomes "Paused," all instances in the project are paused (see about pausing an instance). The instance status will show as "Paused," and most actions will be disabled until the overdue charges are paid and the number of overdue cycles falls below the configured limit.
If the account remains in a "Paused" state for an extended period, the status will change to "Halted." At this point, all instances are shut off (see about shutting off an instance). Most actions remain disabled until all outstanding charges are paid.
While the status is "Paused" or "Halted", you can contact customer support to request temporary reactivation of your services.
If the account remains in a "Halted" state for an extended period, the status will change to "Terminated." At this point, all instances and other resources in the project are permanently deleted (see about terminating resources) and cannot be recovered, even if all outstanding charges are subsequently paid.
Explanation of States
Pausing an Instance
When an instance is paused, the system does not stop the instance's operating system. Instead, it detaches the internal and external IP addresses, making the instance inaccessible from any network. Once the wallet is topped up to a positive balance, the system resumes the instance and restores it to its original status.
Shutting Off an Instance
Shutting off an instance stops its operating system. After the wallet is topped up and the system brings the instance back online, you may need to manually restart your applications to ensure they are running correctly.
Terminating Resources
When an instance has been paused and subsequently shut off for the specified duration, all resources within the project are permanently deleted from the system. These resources cannot be recovered, even if a top-up is made later.
