# Create From a Snapshot

## Prerequisite

* The project's wallet balance must be greater than 0 ([see how to top up a project's wallet](https://docs-epc.gitbook.io/ncs-documents/ncs-documents-en/nipa-cloud-space-overview/billing-and-wallet/topup-a-project-wallet)).
* You must have a volume snapshot within the project ([see how to create a Volume Snapshot](https://docs-epc.gitbook.io/ncs-documents/ncs-documents-en/compute/compute-instance/managing-instance/take-snapshot)).

## Instructions

### 1. **Create a volume**

Click the **'+ Create Volume'** button to open the "Create Volume" window.

### 2. **Fill in the volume creation details**

* **Volume Name:** The name of the volume.
  * Can only contain English letters (A-Z, a-z), numbers (0-9), hyphens (-), or underscores (\_).
  * Must be between 4 and 20 characters long.
* **Source:** The source to create the volume from (select **volume snapshot**).
* **Volume Snapshot:** Select the desired volume snapshot.
* **Size:** The desired size of the volume.
  * The size must be greater than or equal to the size of the source snapshot.
* **Performance Type:** The desired performance type for the volume.
* **Availability Zone:** The AZ where the volume will be stored.

### 3. **Confirm the volume creation**

The newly created volume will initially show a status of "Creating." It will be ready for use once its status changes to **Healthy**.
